Annemarie Slobbe onderzoekt de kracht van de natuur die alles in beweging brengt en waar wij als mens aan gebonden zijn. In schilderijen, scratchboards en films toont ze het verloop van tijd. Haar composities ontwikkelen zich op een natuurlijke wijze doordat ze verandering niet corrigeert maar accepteert. Hypnotiserende patronen ontstaan langs de randen van het canvas. Naar binnen toe wordt de tijdelijke schijn van de vorm losgelaten. Hier blijft enkel de geestelijke omgang met de leegte over; een vormloze stilte, slapend in de duisternis.
Annemarie Slobbe (1990) woont en werkt in Den Haag. Sinds haar afstuderen aan AKV St. Joost in 2014 exposeerde zij onder meer in het Noordbrabants Museum, Parts Project en het Nederlands Steendrukmuseum. Haar werk is opgenomen in diverse collecties, waaronder de NN Kunstcollectie, Stichting Strand Links en privé-collecties in binnen- en buitenland. Annemarie organiseert het doorlopende project Huiskamer van de kunstenaar, waarin zij onderzoekt hoe de ontmoeting tussen kunst en publiek kan worden teruggebracht naar de leefwereld en werkwijze van de kunstenaar.
About
Annemarie Slobbe explores the forces of nature that set everything in motion and to which we as humans are bound. Her paintings, scratchboards and films depict the passage of time. Compositions evolve gradually, as she aims to accept change instead of controlling it. Hypnotic patterns emerge along the edges of the canvas. Going inward, the temporary appearance of form is destroyed. Here only our awareness of the void remains; a formless silence, sleeping in the darkness.
Annemarie Slobbe (1990) lives and works in The Hague, NL. Since graduating from AKV St. Joost in 2014, she exhibited at diverse venues including Het Noordbrabants Museum, Parts Project, and the Dutch Museum of Lithography. Her work is part of several collections, including the NN Group Art Collection, Stichting Strand Links, and private collections in the Netherlands and abroad. Annemarie organizes the ongoing project Huiskamer van de kunstenaar, exploring the encounter between art and the viewer within the context of the artist’s daily life and artistic practice.
